Congratulations to all the athletes selected to compete in Melbourne at the 2014 Special Olympics National Games. The Opening Ceremony was on Monday evening, and competition started yesterday. The very first gold medal of the Games was won in the pool, by our own Louise Richardson - congratulations Louise! There were lots of pale blue shirts (go Team NSW) sporting medals by the end of the day, and the excitement is building as each sport begins.
Special Olympics Australia is posting photos regularly on Flickr and on Facebook, and most state and regional teams have their own Facebook pages where you can follow along with the competition and other Games events.Good luck for the rest of the week, Team NSW - have a wonderful time!
