2016 Trevor Parmenter Lifetime Achievement Award

The 2016 Trevor Parmenter Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Jim Simpson, Senior Advocate with NSW Council on Intellectual Disability on 29 August 2016 at the University of Sydney

The award recognises his longstanding contribution as an advocate in improving the lives of people with intellectual disability, especially in the areas of health, mental health and justice.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises a lifetime contribution to improving he life of people with disabilities in regards to:
  • Systems Change
  • Transfer of knowledge
  • Advocacy
  • Any other relevant areas ... Centre for Disability Studies, University of Sydney
Jim Simpson is a highly regarded, highly skilled advocate for people with intellectual disability. Down Syndrome NSW joins in congratulating him on this well deserved recognition of his work over many years.
