Heartbreak and Beauty, a film conceptualised and made by 13 people with an intellectual disability - 3 directed, 9 performed - has been selected for the prestigious Oscar qualifying film festival Palm Springs Shortfest!Congratulations Genevieve, and to your cast and crew, and good luck for Palm Springs ... and maybe the Oscars!
This is an incredible feat! We couldn't be more proud of all the amazing students who worked together to make the film and also, a big shout out to all our mentors and volunteers! Congrats everyone, we are changing the world, one film at a time!!!

'Heartbreak and Beauty' to screen in Palm Springs festival
We have posted about the ground breaking Bus Stop Films, and its founder, Genevieve Clay-Smith (currently the Young Australian of the year for NSW) many times, as they go from strength to strength in making award winning inclusive films. Several film-makers and actors with Down syndrome work with Bus Stop, including Gerard O'Dwyer, Audrey O'Connor, Digby Webster, Nathan Basha Natalie Bacci, Emma Brodie and others.
